I've been surprised at how many people are just now contacting me about photographing their wedding this summer. So I decided to let you know the important steps to planning a wedding:
Get engaged (you would think that’s a given but I’ve met some women that plan their wedding before even having a groom!). As soon as you get engaged:
Pick a date
Choose a venue
Choose a PHOTOGRAPHER
After all that is done everything else will fall into place
Photographers book up fast and a couple should be picky about who they hire, therefore they should start researching photographers at least 9-12 months before the event date.
I’ve talked to several couples that have hiring the photographer last on their list. They most likely aren’t going to get who they want if they do this. And remember pictures are the one thing you have when the wedding is over -- it preserves your memories of the day – so pick someone great and be sure to book them early!
